WGI just held their 2nd SPINFEST event in Orlando, Florida.  It was a huge success and a wonderful experience for all involved.  The weekend featured classes on design, instruction, technique and vocabulary by several of winterguard’s most successful clinicians.  It also featured a movement class led by none other than the acclaimed, Emmy-winning choreographer, Mia Michaels who is best known, perhaps, as a judge and choreographer on the hit TV show, “So You Think You Can Dance.”  WGI has posted a follow-up story about SpinFest as well as photos from the event on their website, www.wgi.org .  Check it out!

Another exciting announcement at SpinFest is the debut of WGI’s newest instructional DVD dedicated to the art of Tossing!  It is scheduled to be finished and available in November but they are taking orders now!

If you attended Spinfest and would be willing to share your favorite moments or talk about what you learned, visit our discussion board (see the link to the right for The Coaches Connection Discussion Board) and let others know how your weekend went!

(Sept 25, 2007 Update: CHECK OUT THE NEW VIDEO THEY POSTED OF MIA MICHAELS TALKING TO THE GROUP ABOUT HER PHILOSOPHY WHEN IT COMES TO COMPETITION AND ORIGINALITY, and they now also have links to the performances done by the world guards).
